Ned Is Still Taking Care of Me

I'm doing all the things you have to do when you lose a husband. See the Accountant, the Attorney, take care of financial matters.

Monday when I saw the Attorney about the Will. She asked me for the original copy of the Will. I was sure it was in the safe deposit box. The problem is that I have not been able to find the key for the box. Ned always brought it but I had looked and looked, in his "man" purse, suitcases and briefcases. No key. So I had called the bank to find out how I went about getting the box opened and I was going to pay to have it done this week. All afternoon on Monday, I was thinking about the key and "talking" to Ned. And by the way, I talk to Ned a lot. Monday night I had the urge to go look one more time in the briefcases. I went through the first one and just as I was about to put it down I realized that there was a concealed zippered pocked inside another pocket. I unzipped it and there was the safe deposit key.

Tuesday I went to the bank and opened the safe deposit box. There were all the legal papers that I needed both here and in Mexico.

I think Ned is still watching out for me.

I found that when someone you'be loved deeply and for a long time passes, you will find things that they seem to do for you. Don't be surprised to find a small playful trick every so often. Frank

Billie, I didn't know that Ned had passed and I'm so very sorry to hear this. I'm sure that Ned is still with you, helping you in this transition and talking to him must feel like the most natural thing in the world...I know I'd be doing just the same thing in your position.

As far as blogging is concerned, go with your heart...if you feel like continuing, it will feel right.

He will be with you always!
And watch over you.

Worst you can do right now ,
Shy away from the people,
who know and love you.

Even in the Blogs world,
We care...

Hi Billie. Of course he is still with you and will always take care of you. He is a part of you and he is watching over you. It's good that you are sharing your thoughts. When I first started blogging, years ago, your blog was the very first blog that uplifted my spirits because of your photos and everything you had to offer for us to see and read. Still does. Take care. ::hugs::

Ha ha! A great story! Lucky you to have 50+ years of memories to help you out -- almost no secrets from each other (including secret hiding places!).

Yes, he is watching out for you. I actually have a beautiful story that shows how those that have passed in my family watch out for me. Sorry if this is too long.

My grandmother passed away when I was four years old. My GM and I were completely inseparable from the time I was born. The night before my grandmother passed away, my mother was sleeping and woke up in the middle of the night and looked in my room. She saw a woman standing over me wearing a brown shawl and her grey hair was in a long braid wrapped around her head. She didn't feel afraid and rolled over and went back to sleep. The next morning when my dad came over to tell her (my parents were separated at the time, so my dad didn't live with us then), my mom relayed the story of what happened the previous night. My mom had never met or seen a picture of my grandmother's mom, but my dad said that was her. She always wore her hair that way and had a favorite brown shawl. To this day, I still think she was watching over me, knowing I was about to have my world come crumbling around me at such a young age.

Lots of hugs, and I'm sure Ned will keep watch over you.

Billie: I have never commented on your blog but I read it each time you have a new post. I started following you after falling in love with San Miguel following a trip there. I hope you will continue to blog through your grief and that it will be a comfort to you knowing that we are out here supporting this transition of your life.
