In the Shadow of the Parroquia

We are back home in San Miguel. We arrived yesterday evening in the middle of a rain storm. It was beautiful driving home through the mountains and looking out over the countryside with giant rain clouds across the horizon.

Today Ned hit the ground running to get his FM2 renewed. It took a little over an hour to see the escritorio publico and get the papers typed, go to the bank and pay the fee and turn in the paper work to Immigration. They said that all the paper work was in order and the FM2 will be ready to pick up in 10 days. So that is one problem out of the way as we make reservations to head back to the USA for more cancer treatment.

I was still tired this morning but when I opened my eyes and looked out the window there was a gorgeous sunrise of deep salmon and gold, the birds were singing, the roosters were crowing and the dogs next door were barking. It was good to be back home in the shadow of the Parroquia.

Billie, that was a beautiful way of describing how you felt and what you saw this morning when you opened your eyes. That's what life is all about, the enjoyment of the simple things. Thanks for that.

I can't tell you how many times a day I stop and say "this is so wonderful." I can tell you do the same thing.

So glad that all of you understand that feeling. I'm really glad to be here.

I feel the same way when I visit, and can't wait to move there and wake up in my own home to those
comforting sounds as well. Every time that I am in SMA, I think to myself - I just LOVE it here! I feel so at home!
