Take me out
To the ball game
Take me out
With the crowd
Buy me some peanuts
And Crackerjack
I don't care if
I never never get back
Let me root, root root
For the home team
If they don't win
It's a shame
For it's one, two,
Three strikes you're out
At the old ball game!
Isn't this song just a part of Americana. We all know it and can sing along. But here is what it will cost you today to go to an Astros game.................
Tickets: anywhere from $7 to $52.
Parking close to the stadium : $25 to $30
4 burgers, chips, 2 beers and 2 sodas $67
Beer $7.50
Water $4
Cotton Candy $5
How do people afford to take their family? And it isn't just baseball. The cost for all kinds of entertainment just staggers me. Yet when Ned and Son #1 and his boys went to see the Astros, the stadium was full. It just seems strange to me that in today's economy people are spending this kind of money on entertainment.
Oh, by the way, the Astros lost.

It seems that the sport's teams haven't gotten the message about the new economy. Very expensive to see any of our locals play. We do have wonderful stadiums even if the teams let us down, so I guess part of the fee is for architectural viewing.
They say for a family of four to see a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, expect $100 each -- tickets, transportation, refreshments and food. And the Red Sox have not played to less than a sold out ball park for the past 5-6 years. I with you, how can people afford it in this economy. Priorities I suppose, but it seems people are making choices between Red Sox tickets and mortage payments.
Why do we keep building the stadiums for them? They've got even revenue to make even an average player a multi-millionaire but not even money to finance their own facility. We are the Suckers. No one ever offered to build me a fabrication shop. I love baseball. My dad came home from POW Germany, graduated from college and said, "I going go play baseball". Bring back the men that played for the love of the sport.
Kinda why college ball is so dang popular.
4 bucks for water?
surprised they don't charge to breathe...
I watched the Gold Cup futbol finals on TV for free with a couple guys and a $8.00 bottle of tequila (limes came off my tree ;-)
And Mexico won!!!
Thanks but no thanks. I would much rather sit at home and watch a football or baseball game.
I'm glad that we are all in agreement. These prices are crazy.
For those of you who live in the Yucatan, tell me about the all the new baseball fields we saw in the villages. They were nice with bleachers and some even had lights. Is there a Yucatan league?
