Saturday Again

Yes, it was Saturday again and time for another Texas sized breakfast. Yesterday morning it was Tacos a gogo at 3704 Main. The Houston Chronicle says, "It is very Austin, with a bit of San Antonio thrown in." I agree. One of the things I love about Austin is all the funky places they have that are open for a long leisurely breakfast. I just didn't expect to find one in Houston right in the middle of the city on Main Street with the Metro zipping past the front door. Usually I show you the food. Well the tacos were great but I felt so at home in the brilliant blue walls with the Virgin keeping watch and this lovely senorita from Tabasco sipping chocolate with me that I decided you just needed to see the taco joint.

I reading this on Sunday morning, and damn, now I'm really hungry. And there are no eggs in the house. What to do, what to do... blueberry pancakes might work.

I love the Tabasco picture. Being from Louisiana, we are partial to Tabasco.

Cute place! While driving through Tabasco next week, I will keep my eyes open for a lovely Srta. like this!

Now I have to try this place too. Once again, I loved Lankford Grocery. No wonder they are the home of the greatest burger. Taking my hubby next week. Food channel hasn't aired their segment on Lankford, but when they do, we won't be able to get in.

Had lunch at Empire Cafe on Saturday: inexpensive, casual with fresh, fresh food. My daughter says she also likes their brunch. I'm stuck in Clear Lake with chain restaurants so the Empire was so nice just for very casual dining. Believe me, we have nothing like it down here. If you haven't tried it, it's on lower Westheimer.

Cynthia, I've been going to Empire Cafe for at least 12+ years....I guess since shortly after they opened. Always a great laid back place with fresh food. Love, love their tomato corn chowder.

Even the sign at Empire Cafe is perfection.
