Michelada?

It is hot. Anyone want a Michelada?

Michelada recipe

Salt the top of the glass with Tajin fruit seasoning: a mixture of chili, salt and lime.
Squeeze one lime in the glass (depending on the juice you might just use one half).
Add a pinch of salt.
Add three ice cubes (iced beer is acceptable in Mexico).
A few dashes of Tabasco Sauce.
A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
Any Mexican beer to fill the glass.
Be careful when pouring because the salt will make the beer foam more than usual.
Mix and enjoy.

Any substitute for the beer?

Not that I'm a purest or anything near it, but this just doesn't sound good to me. Sounds like trying to make beer not taste like beer.

Heard of 'em - but never tried one. Not sure salt in beer is good for you though.

Ever the health nut - sorry - it's hot here too.

Micheladas are refreshing but don't think of them as BEER. Some beer brand in the States is making a beer with lime already in it. Now that I don't like. For one thing it isn't like a fresh squeezed lime. This isn't a drink I want everyday, but sometimes when served in a pretty glass on a hot day, it tastes right.

Sol beer here in Mexico sells a lime added brew -

Personally I like my beer not flat.

My daughter grew to love these when she was in San Miguel. I will definitely try the Michelada.
