The Long Drive North

The drive from San Miguel to Texas is beautiful. Not in a lush way but in a high desert kind of way. The road winds through mountains with sparce vegetation. The colors are muted, not deep greens and fields of flowers but sages, umbers, lavenders and purpley blues. Not soft edges but crisp outlines. I never thought I'd think a desert, even a high desert was beautiful. I loved the deep marshy greens and atmospheric fogs of coastal and East Texas. The lowlands. But now I can say I've seen the light. The high crisp light of Mexico. I can love both.
The photograph? One I made recently that I like.

The high desert area is one I love. Especially around Zacatecas. I could never live there but I sure do love visiting. I keep expecting to see a stagecoach on the horizon being chased by Native Americans!

I love how the background in your pic is all blurry while the front is crisp and clean. Wish I could do that!
