Family, Food and Fun

For most Mexicans, the main meal of the day is served around 2:00 PM. We have family here with us in San Miguel and we have been observing that tradition. Yesterday's Comida included some friends and the staff at the house our family is renting made a wonderful meal....squash blossom soup, filete de res, baked potato, broccoli and cauliflower. Then a wonderful apple cake with ice cream. The meal was delicious and relaxed.

Afterward we moved to the terrace beside the pool and while the grandsons entertained us with their antics in the pool, we continued to tell stories and laugh until suddenly it was almost 10:00 PM.

This is the kind of day that you wish you could put in a bottle and save....to be opened and savored when everything isn't so wonderful, or that you could pass the bottle on to the next generation to open.

I guess the best we can do is make photographs.

I only wish you were in the photograph, and then it would be complete. Gotta get you a remote release.....and a tripod.

The wireless remote release doesn't work with the Canon 5D....at least that is what I read. I could get a hardwire release for 2.6 feet and an extension for about $100. Don't think this will be on my lust list.
