Dusk in Central Park

It was a coincidence that this morning I was working on this image shot at dusk in Central Park in 1993 when I read Mark Hobson's blog The Landscapist. I was trying to decide how dark to print the image and I had made several small prints. I kept wondering, Am I making this too dark? Do I need to widen the tonal range? But when I played with the curve, the print lost the peaceful feeling of approaching evening. Mark makes a good point that all landscapes aren't adaptable to a full tonal range.

What a lovely simple image -- now if you can just create this feeling with your digital Holga.

I love this shot, Billie! With the darker edges it is almost like you are peeking in on someone's dream.
