About 30 minutes from our front door in San Miguel de Allende we get on Mexican Highway 57 and that is it until we cross the Rio Grande 8 hours later. Four lane divided highway. Most of it is a toll highway that by-passes cities and towns. Heavy truck traffic. Mexico 57 through the car window at 75 miles an hour.

I like seeing the bike lane on the highway. I wish we had more of that here in the US.
I also like the "color tonality" -- for lack of a better term -- of these pictures. There's an edge to the blues: sort of a heightened contrast and lower saturation, that suits the material very well.

I tried to balance the RAW file for white but I'm sure some of the color also comes from shooting through the tinted windows of the car. I like the color too so your comment gives me an idea...maybe I should try some filters on the 5D that would simulate the tint of the car windows. Might be interesting for some Mexican landscapes.
You can get this effect in Photoshop, too. In short, choose one of the color channels (green is usually the best for this), select all, copy, then return editing mode to RGB. Paste on top of your image. On the layers palette, change the opacity of this layer to about 35% and the blending mode to Soft Light. Play with the opacity a bit for variations, or use a different channel.
