In late March and April, the Jacaranda trees bloom. The color is a purple but it is a color that is like the Texas bluebonnet....you just can't capture the color that your eye sends to your brain. The purple against the blue San Miguel sky is so beautiful. When you look across the city from a terrace and see the splotches of jacaranda blossoms against the ochres, terracottas, and reds of the buildings and the green of the other trees, it is breathtaking.
