Wild Flowers

The countryside is so green now. It is the rainy season and we have had rain. Lots of rain. Last night while we had dinner with friends the skies opened and it poured. Our rain gauge said it was about 1-1/2 inches of rain. Then today as we drove home from Celaya, we headed into dark rain clouds again. I wanted to stop and take some photographs but by the time we were able to find a place to pull off of the curvy road, there were already a few rain drops falling. The wild flowers are just starting to bloom. I think we are going to have some spectacular displays by mid-September.

Isn't September usually the height of the rainy season? In the 70's when I was a flight attendant, I always skipped Mexico City flights in September because it always seemed to rough weather. I don't remember July and August that way, so I've always believed September was the big rain month.

Love the photo. It may have started to rain, but you captured a great image.

Cynthia, the rain usually starts about mid-June and we have rain until September or early Oct. I really haven't noticed the rain being more in September.

Thanks for the comment about the image. Did you get my email reply yesterday?

I did get the email and thank you. Will reply later today. Still up in the air about my next trip down. Have some stuff to do for our friends at the IRS that is holding back my travel plans. Love doing taxes!

I really love the contrasts and look of this shot. The sun seems to be shining directly and only on the flowers.
