Expanding the Industrial Base

This week it was announced in the Correo newspaper that covers news for the State of Guanajuato that Software Services out of California is expanding operations to San Miguel de Allende. They will spend about $2,000,000 USA to build a facility and they will employ about 340 people.

I've tried to find some information about Software Services on the net but so far haven't been able to find out exactly what they do or what they will do in the facility here. But $2,000,000 pumped into the economy for construction and then employment of 340 people is good news. I'd really like to see San Miguel diversify outside of the tourist industry.

Of course this brings up other cultural and social issues like the water supply in this high desert region and being able to provide sufficient services to the growing population.

Have you gotten any further information on this? I've also searched the Net -- can find no company by that name -- I'd love to contact them in advance of moving down there -- already have some former IT friends living there -- let me know.
