The other day someone asked me about the orange flower in the post about The Luck of the Draw. It is a Crocosmia. This is one that I photographed in my garden in Houston in 2003. I started with just a few crocosmia and they took off. I love flowers that naturalized and come back every year. I wonder if I could get a pot of crocosmia growing up on the terrace.
The bulbs are very tiny. It should be too hard to do. Can you recomment a bulb smuggler?

Could you ask the lady who sold you the cut flowers? I tried to order some but Park and Burpee were sold out. Was thinking of ordering them from Amazon when a friend (who calls them 'Lucifer' flowers) dug a big basket for me from her garden. I hope they bloom next season.
Imogene
Imogene, I've never seen them in SMA. But I will ask around. Back in Houston I got my start from a friend.
Hi Billie,
In Ireland we call them Montbrecia and they grow in the hedgerows like weeds all through summer. However they only grow west of the river shannon so they are very smart flowers to realise the we are nicer in the west!!
Billie, I have tons of them. Wonder if they'd let me send them through the mail? I've not had them in pots but I'm sure they'd do well, they are very easy. And, it finally rained yesterday AND today. Yipee!!!!
What a gorgeous photo.
beautifull pic after i see this photo feel very nice.
