Slow Blogging

A few weeks ago several of the regular bloggers mentioned that they just didn't have the blogging urge. Hmmmm...I thought, "How can they be in that mood. There is so much to blog about." Well, now I've caught the blogging blah disease and I understand. Usually September is a good blogging month because we have the grito, the fair and the San Miguel festival. However, after 4-1/2 years of blogging, I couldn't think of anything to say about Independence Day that I haven't already written. Also we have so many more bloggers now who are writing delightful Independence Day reports that I really don't have anything else to say about it. I even went up on the terrace to take pictures of the fireworks but they were just so, so. We have had some dinner invitations from friends and I thought about taking my camera along and writing about the good food. But I haven't done that either.

I photographed these chiles en nogada when we had comida on Sunday at Don Felix in Colonia San Rafael at Fray Juan de San Miguel #15. I love chiles en nogada and I love Don Felix restaurant and his recipe for the dish. The restaurant is in a house and the minute you walk in the door you feel like you are a guest who has been invited to share comida with the family. We ate in the back patio. The weather was wonderful and the food was delicious.

Some restaurants serve chile en nogada all year but the traditional time is in September when all the ingredients are at their peak of freshness. The dish symbolizes the green, white and red of the Mexican flag. I like the idea of serving it only around the time of Mexico's independence because very year I so look forward to eating this dish.

I'm going to take a couple of aspirin and hope that I get over the blogging blahs very soon.

I thought it was just me! I struggle everyday to come up with something to say. Somedays I fail miserably, others are ok. I hope the blog bug bites me hard again soon!

I am feeling the same way, after this length of time in the same area there just doesn't seem to be much new to say. Maybe it is time to move lol and find new topics.

Sam and Bob, your blog has a great start. Go for it!

Wayne and Brenda, I think we have all been blogging about the same length of time. Maybe it is like the 7 year itch or something.

Haven't had the blog blahs yet - I always seem to be backed up in my head with things to write - I end up only writing what ever is in the fore.

Global Post has slowed me down because they seem to take two days sometimes to get an entry posted.

I write about people which a lot of bloggers seem to avoid - I even use names ;-)

I am thinking on getting into a series of focusing on businesses, there are soooo many restaurants - that alone could keep me busy for several months.

I have been thinking that perhaps we regulars might do some collaborations blogging on the comparisons of our areas.

Life in Mexico hasn't ceased to amaze me - when it does I might have to find some other subject like 15 years in the rock 'n roll business or vegetarian life or environmental issues or... - Look how long this comment is getting ... stop me!

Feel free to blog about food! I love some of your blogs about what you made for dinner or what you had to eat out at a local restaurant. I like those posts as much as your posts with photos.

I don't seem to not be able to come up with subjects.....but some that I write, remain drafts, as you well know......Not sure if the blogger world is ready for them. Ha.

Well, you do have a lot on your mind these days....ya' know? I, too, have the Sept blogger blues, but what with my printer of commission, classes starting, and a whole bunch of other things, I just have been able to find the time to blog. Like this afternoon, I have to go give PS lessons to someone. Oh well...

Ooooh, I don't want to think about life without billieblog.

Question: last month a reader asked you about living far from the grandkids and then you posted a blog about that subject. That was a great post.
Did you enjoy that?
Would you like some topic suggestions from your readers, maybe some that don't always post?
Or maybe that's too much like handing over the steering wheel (and steering column)?

Friends have described you in this space and others, as sensible, dependable, even-keel. I don't know you but maybe it's time to rave, obsess, disturb and/or flame throw.

Could be fun.
