Before midnight, rain
A good strong rain
Into the early dawn
Was this the last hurrah?
A mark for the end of the season?
Many sounds
The whole is rain
But the parts....
Splat on the windows
Plop on the leaves
Ting on the skylight
Dull on the bricks
Sighs from beyond the walls
Savor the sounds
The smells
The wetness
The dry season is upon us
