I know a few of the people who read my blog with some regularity but there are lots of readers who I don't know. From SiteMeter I know how many people and which city their internet connect went through. I know a few people because they have made comments on the blog.....the rest a mystery.
You can imagine my consternation when Carol Doak of Avid Estate Sales told me that someone who reads my blog called her about doing an estate sale because they had read about her on my blog. The name wasn't familiar and I don't have a clue who it might be. I'm glad if it throws some more business to Carol but it brought home once again the power of the internet to connect people. The problem is a blog is a very one sided connection.

"The problem is a blog is a very one sided connection."
I have to take exception with this statement in our case ;-)
Where are you these days?
Calypso John
Hi Billie,
I just found your blog, but we went through all the things you are going through five and a half years ago. It was the best decision ever. We started out in Coatepec, Veracruz, moved to Naolinco, Veracruz for over a year and now have been living in Merida, Yucatan for almost 4 years. Here's hoping your future is as happy in your new home as our's has been.

Billie,
You know that I'm one of your regular readers.
Jerry
Hope the problems with the new lot will get resolved. How is the eye doing?
Did you ask the estate sale agent for a commission? HA HA HA
I have noticed the same thing with the blog, you see a lot of people who return often and yet they never leave a comment, it is like we all want to remain anonymous, just lurking in cyber space where perhaps the anonyimity gives us a false sense of security.

Hello to my regular readers and glad to meet you LeAnn. We have spent a lot of time in Merida. We have a great interest in the Mayan ruins and also the 16th century churches scattered all through the countryside around Merida. We use to stay in Merida and everyday drive out to the sites I wanted to photograph. It is a great city.
LeAnn, we have basically been living in San Miguel for the last 2 or 3 years so I know that we are making a good decision. I'm just anxious to get back "home" to San Miguel.
