Time to Move

We are headed home soon. Yipee!

Ned saw the oncologist and he was very pleased that Ned has tolerated the treatment so well. The radiation and chemo is the standard of care for Ned's lung cancer but he wants to do some more chemo although there are no definitive studies that prove it provides greater protection. From his practice he feels that it does for those people who can tolerate it. Usually young people tolerate the radiation/chemo well and older people don't. Ned, apparently, isn't an old man. He is going to fight this cancer with everything in that is available. But the important news is that we'll head home for a while and then come back for some more chemo.

I remember when a friend of mine had to get chemo and radiation. Initially she went to the top hospitals in NY and NJ, was diagnosed, operated on and put on treatment there. Soon after she realized that the treatments could be done at any hospital. Might that be an option for you and Ted? You'd be home and you both might feel more comfortable and happy and you wouldn't have to travel that distance again in the near future which couldn't hurt.

Good luck!

Diane

Billie,

Bless Ned and you. My mom passed away from lung cancer. She did not say how she felt until the bitter end when the pain was bad. I wonder how did you guys found out he had "something". I hope that he is feeling great and more years of happy times in San Miguel and Tejas are ahead of you and your family together.

Best wishes,

Alfredo.
